we break from our regularly scheduled thesis madness for . . .

Last night I was on the double decker bus on my way to see Harry Manx (so much better live than I had even hoped & he played all my favourites too!) at UVic & I spied a lovely little old trike outside our neighbourhood used store.

My heart skipped a beat - mostly because I knew I couldn't get off the bus, grab the trike, run it up the hill and up the stairs and tuck it safely in our apartment and still get to the concert on time.

Bruce met me at the show at intermission fresh off his flight from Kelowna and on our way home we stopped at Christie's for a beer. On our walk home the little guy was still there and I brought it home (though not after some 'serious discussion' about what I would take out of our apartment in return . . .).

I haven't taken a photo yet - it doesn't have its perfect home just yet - I will show a photo soon though.

In the meantime I came across this amazing little gem of a little person bike/trike in my search for other photos of trikes in houses.

I would never spend this kind of cash on a little bike however I think this classic design is ingenious!

Okay, off to bed!

I've had a good week of thesis work and I am SO close to having a very workable draft to give my supervisor before I head to Ontario dark & early Wednesday morning - it is just taking so long. Soon, soon!

February it is.

This is a week of many hopes and plans and motivations. Bruce is away to help his dad prune his apple trees in Armstrong and I've got the place to myself to try to get a draft of my thesis done & hopefully to finish off my long overdue quilt project.

Bruce left at 6:45am this morning and I'm a bit lonely already, and unkempt. I sense a week of hermitting is in order. Really, I don't want to leave my apartment.

And so in an attempt to motivate myself I've come here (via Apartment Therapy & Chez Larrson & Soule Mama & Knitting Iris . . . some regulars who keep me company.

This is what got me going - don't you love the simplicity?

Someday I hope to make a bed just like this - I love the style and re-use-it idea and the promise of cozy cuddling. I love finding new blogs & new inspiration - I adore Ashley's photos and decorating style.

I would love to make a pillow like this gingham one with this ruffled floral detail!

And now thanks to this boost of blogging inspiration I'm off to tackle this first

& then this if I have time

Wish me luck & if I have my way with both of these, I'll be back here a few times between now & Saturday.

Happy first week in February!
